U31-70, Some of the keys are not working

Everything was working fine until few days ago where LEFT, UP, PgDn, Home, Delete buttons stopped working.

I tried re-installing the drivers and even updating the BIOS, but none of these seems to work.

Is this simply a hardware malfunctioning or could this be fixed with some sort of system update?

Re: U31-70, Some of the keys are not working

Dear Sir

Welcome to Lenovo Community

We can try 2 small simple steps :

1 - i believe your battery non removable so please turn off your machine, remove the charger, press & hold the power button for 15 seconds then plug the charger & power on your device. ( now try your mal function keys if they are working or no, if no so please go to the next step.

2 - try an external keyboard, if the same malfunction keys not working on the external keyboard as well so its software or settings issue but if its working well so 100% its hardware issue from your machine keyboard so in this case you should deliver your device to the nearest service center. Kindly find the phone number of Lenovo Call center in your country in the below link:

https://support.lenovo.com/eg/ar/contactus/supportphonelist.

Please tell me what happened after

Best Of Luck

Re: U31-70, Some of the keys are not working

Hi Jaekanl,

Welcome to the Lenovo community!

Please clean the keyboard layout for any dust particles. Also check if on-screen keyboard is available & check issue persist in safe mode.

Please update the latest BIOS driver. Click here for BIOS driver.

Let us know how you get on.

Regards,

Shashi

Hi Ray-007,

Thanks for your advice. It worked when I tried holding the power button. But when I reboot, it stopped working again.

Re: U31-70, Some of the keys are not working

Hey Jaek

What about trying an external keyboard? Is it working or u didn't try ? Anyway try an external keyboard if it works so u have to deliver your device as I told u before to the service center sure it's a hardware issue.

Best of Luck
