U310, Bluetooth, Dolby home theatre and Windows 8.1 update

2013-10-30, 18:27 PM

Brand new U310. Two situations.

1.  Installed Win 8.1 uodate.  Bluetooth does not detect nor is detected by my smartphone.

The action center in control panel has these messages:

Reinstall Intel Bluetooth Wireless High Speed

To use Intel Bluetooth Wireless High Speed with this version of Windows, you must reinstall it using the original installation media or download files. If you're unable to locate the media or files, contact Intel, the manufacturer of Intel Bluetooth Wireless High Speed for more info.

and:

Reinstall Intel Proset Wireless/Bluetooth

To use Intel Proset Wireless/Bluetooth with this version of Windows, you must reinstall it using the original installation media or download files. If you're unable to locate the media or files, contact Intel Corporation, the manufacturer of Intel Proset Wireless/Bluetooth for more info.

Tap or click to go online to the Intel Corporation website for more info and support optionsTap or click to go online to the Intel Corporation website for more info and support options

2. Error message on reboot:  Unable to start the Dolby audio driver.  Please restart the computer or reinstall the driver if the problem persists.  There is not any action center messages regarding Dolby.

In both situations the device manager reports drivers are all working properly.  There is not any yellow warning triangles visible.

If someone can identify the correct driver/software I can download and install that would be great.  Telephone support was difficult to understand and thus no help.

Thanks,

Don

These are the Win 8.1 drivers that you mentioned. All you have to do is to click "Support: Drivers and Download" and select "Drivers and Software" and select the model of your unit. Under operating system select Win 8.1. Uninstall with  Delete option the present drivers before installing the new drivers.

I have the same problem with dolby home theatre v4 and I also have windows 8.1. The problem arose when i recently updated to windows 8.1. And I just installed the new driver that you suggested but it did not work and now it says that I can't play any audio and when I go into the manage audio devices in the control panel, there's none. How can I fix this?

nvm!! it works again!

I finally had time to work on the drivers...

The audio driver apparently fixed the problem as I no longer see the error message.

The bluetooth driver did NOT fix the problem.

I have not replaced the WiFi driver yet but it is working good enough that I can put it off until I have more time.

What if I have Bluetooth driver 3.1.1309.386. Is that a problem (seems to be newer)?
