G'day!
U310 - I5 - 4Gb - 32Gb SSD - 500Gb HD - upgraded from W7 premium to W8 pro
I have three questions.
1.
I just encountered a new driver for the next item:
WIFI Driver (Intel, CyberTan, Liteon) for Microsoft Windows 8 (32-bit, 64-bit) - IdeaPad U310, U410
and I found this update on the URL:
http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS031444
The thing is that from the moment I upgraded to W8 I'm not very satisfied about the WiFi performance and I wonder if this driver update will give the solution.
2.
I'm asking myself whether all U310's that were upgraded to W8 share the same drivers, or is there a difference of country.
In other words, can I download and install this new driver without the risk that it might not work properly?
And can I dowbnload and install ANY new driver for my U310 without any restriction?
3.
Is there any service notification for this specific U310 by LENOVO when there is a new driver update (e.g. for W8 64 bits)?
I mean, I have to search and search and search for new drivers without being sure if I took the right version ...
Thanks in advance.
Grtz,
Jim

Hi
Welcome To Lenovo Community
We are really very sorry for the issue you are facing
Based on what I read from your post, I am sharing a link of updated drivers
And few steps to enhance Wi-Fi signals
Wireless LAN (network controller) device driver
Open device Manager, Network Adaptors
Right click on Wlan card click on properties
Click Advanced
Click on Transit Power and changed the value to 5. Highest
Roaming Aggressiveness change value to Highest
Reboot the system
Do give this a try and let us know
Hope This Helps
Cheers!!!

Thanks, RMattoo,
However, I'm in doubt:
When I activate the driver update, I get a warning message that "executing this unkown app could cause damage to my computer".
Can I execute it nonetheless? I was expecting an update without this warning ...
