U310 idea pad. User profile service failed the logon. User profile cannot be loaded. Help please.

I have had my Ideapad for about three months and it has been pretty faultless. It has windows 7 installed.

I turned it on tonight and tried to login but got the message in the title. A google search turned up a few ideas to fix it but they all rely on being able to start the machine in Safe Mode which I can't seem to do.

Has anyone got any ideas as to how I can get it sorted?

Thanks,
Scott

Dear Cyclingscott

Welcome to Lenovo forums

if the machine came preloaded with win 7 try doing a recovery for the machine to get it back to the factory status
please be noted that all the data on the C partition will be lost you can start this process by pressing the NOVO button like the below image

Novo button.png

then choose onekey recovery and two options will come up you will have to choose restore from initial backup an then follow the steps

Thanks

Thanks for the reply.

I have now fixed the problem with the help of a technician from a company called Blue IT. I was really happy with the service and would happily reccomend them to anyone who is having problems. He knew exactly what the problem was and talked me through the fix for it over the phone in about 10mins. Their website is http://www.blueit-ltd.com/

Apparently the problem is being caused by a recent Windows update and seems to be affecting computers with either Rapport or Skype installed. Interestingly he talked me through a different process to the one you describe above and I ended up in exactly the same position as I was before the error message popped up with no loss of data :-)
