Re: U330 bios doesn't enable virtualization techonology mode?

Actually, the BIOS backup I've made was made with ALL=0. It doesn't really matter, as the settings area is protected only from writes, not reads. You can verify this relatvely simply, by introducing a change in the BIOS settings (F2), and comparing (vbindiff) the BIOS dumps from before and after the change.

Before you flash anything make sure you've backed-up all your data. Although the procedure went fine for me, noone gives any guarantiees this will work without problems for you and having data backed up is always a good thing.

You have to make modification on your own BIOS readed from your notebook. It's simple operation.

you're right.

Re: U330 bios doesn't enable virtualization techonology mode?

Hi there,

anyone knows any work around for enabling VT on IdeaPad Y650 1845-75U?

I purchased this model as many of you with the same issue, just because of its processor VT compatibility, Pentium Core 2 Duo P8700, which is confirmed by Microsoft tools, Intel tools and third party tools.

As we know there is no option to enable the VT feature in BIOS, stupid LENOVO market trick to hide it from us.

Actually, after contacting LENOVO many times to solve this issue and not getting anyware with them, I am looking with my lawyers team to start a class action against LENOVO for ripping off the buyers of IdeaPad series (models that have VT compatibility) as we as customers are getting charged for high end processor features and LENOVO is selling us low end products, basically overcharging customers. Till legal steps are going to take place, and this is going to happen very soon, we all will need a work around to enable VT on our own.

And YES, NO MORE LENOVO PRODUCT FOR ME, MY COMPANY AND ALL COMPANIES THAT I SUPPORT!

Thanks
