my lenovo U400 is about 3 weeks old. Since a few days it seems like the fan is running on max speed all the time. Even if id do nothing. My CPU usage is about 5% and I´m running windows 7 64bit.
Is there a solution like a BIOS update?

a BİOS update could fix it,
however can you give us a few details as to when the problem started?
İ mean did you install any drivers recently, just before the problem started?
Since your laptop is very new,i don't assume that it needs cleaning,
unless you keep it in a very dusty environment.
You don't mention any heat problems,i assume there are none?
The laptop doesn't overheat?
Check Thermal Management button on your desktop,
is it perhaps stuck on 'Efficient thermal dissipation?
İf not you could un-install / re-install the software and see what happens.
İ would leave the BİOS update for last.
İf none of my suggestions work, then contacting Lenovo support would be the best thing to do.
Hope you fix it.

thanks for your replay!
I installed some software before the problem started. For example League of Legends, Blender, Eclipse and some firefox plugins.
When I just run Firefox the I5 temperature ist at 102 °F and the other core is at 98°F. The package temp ist at 109°F.
There are two more temperatures TZS0 and TZS1 at 111°F and 91°F but I don´t know where they belong to. (LENOVO Emerald Lake).
The Intel(R) HD Graphic Chip ist at 32°F. I think the program can´t read the data from the sensor.
The fan grid look very clean !

Well, reversing the changes you made(one by one)
cleaning the hdd,then rebooting
should hopefully give results,if that's the problem.
Re the temps,if the laptop di not too hot to the touch,
doesn't shut down suddenly, with no blue screens
then no problem.
Do you have a system restore point, from before this first started?
İf so,that may also help.
İf no joy, then a BİOS update,if available may do it.
FF plug ins by the way, should also be checked.
