U41-70 SSD compatible with SSD M.2 PCIe SM951 ??

Hi,

Just purchased the U41-70 Lenova ultrabook and I want to upgrade to an SSD. Came across the Samsung SM951 which is not your ordinary SSD but needs a PCIe 3.0 x4 .

My question is , should I buy this SSD , will it fit, will it work  on my laptop? Searched everywhere, came up with no useful

answer.

Thanks so much.

Re: U41-70 SSD compatible with SSD M.2 PCIe SM951 ??

hi vogans,

Welcome to the Forums.

Looking at this Product Overview for the U41 and the U41-70 hardware maintenance manual, this unit doesn't have an M.2 slot and the mini PCIe slot on it is occupied by the WLAN/BT combo card so I'm afraid the Samsung SM951 won't fit and won't work on this laptop.

If you're looking for an SSD upgrade then going for a 2.5 SSD would be the best option.

I hepe this info helps you out.

Regards
