Re:U41-70 won't turn on

2020-04-21, 10:29 AM

I have faced similar kind of issue for past few days. My laptop (U41-70 series) couldn't turn on 4 days back. No light, nothing, no luck after pressing novo button. Recently I plugged a cooling fan with one of the USB ports in the laptop everytime I was working. So, after shutting down normally, when I was going to turn on the laptop again, nothing happened. I went to a servicing centre nearby and they fixed the power board. Again after the problem sorted, I plugged the fan and after 2 days, the problem arised again. So, I am somewhat sure this (plugging of the cooling fan via USB) can be a probable reason. What do you think? I will test surely for not plugging the fan after my laptop fixed for the 2nd time. If this is be the reason, then the fuse might tripped when I am going to connect the mobile in the USB port. What is your suggestion? Thanks for pointing out.

Ugh I posted the same thing about my Ideapad S340 which I bought from an Argos store in the UK about 3 weeks ago. Have been waiting since Monday for the courier to turn up to collect it. My issue is that the power button flashes for 2 seconds as well as the power light on the side, when plugged shows fully charged. Originally collection was arranged for Friday but they didn’t provide me the tracking info, so was rescheduled for Monday. What do you know the guy turned up Friday anyway and I wasn’t ready, he didn’t turn up on Monday and so far it’s Tuesday 15:28 pm and he still hasn’t turned up. Argos won’t accept returns atm, I went in there this morning because I tried to upgrade the ram (turns out I bought the wrong ram but I didn’t touch anything inside) and they seem to think I’ve tampered with the device. Between Lenovo and UPS I am SICK of waiting

Hi all I chatted to my friend who is a Windows programmer, he was correct when he said the the USB port has a thermal overload to protect the circuit. After about fifteen minutes it was fine, so learn that lesson.

Thanks all I hope that helps.

Thank you for detecting the USB issue..I hope the problem will not arise If I connect an external hard drive or mouse rather than a cooling fan or power bank in the USB port. Although I have connected the USB fan on the USB2.0 port.

You USB ports are for low power ONLY they will charge charge phones, but not a lot more, take my advice throw the bloody fan away. The thermal overload WILL give up altogether and the PC will be caput, so open a window or get a mains fan!

Hi

I just got the same thing, well these days my laptop it's just acting normal as always right now um.... today, my laptop won't turn on.

Is this a nightmare or what IDK. At least I know that problem that's why i logged to lenovo community service I thought I will find some answers for turns out just replies, I feel like "woah, I thought I'm going to find some answers in here we'll... nevermind"

I start looking all the replies Then i realized, some of us had that problem to.

What should I do?

The answer is: try to plugged your laptop with the power cable( make sure the power cable is straight not messy, if it's messy it won't charge that way) then press the power button a bit then it turn on, done.

Still turned off, text me if it's still don't want to turn on. I'll figure it out later when I have some free time
