U430 T Touchpad Broken?

Hi, just got my U430 T new today from a store, and the left click on the touchpad is extremely stiff. It makes a very loud clicking noise, and feels very resistant. Once I click it once or twice, it will click normally if I continue to use it, but if I leave it for about 20 seconds and try click again...back to the same problem. It's a little annoying, and just doesn't feel right.

Right click is perfect, however.

Re: U430 T Touchpad Broken?

Hi starjammer,

Welcome to Lenovo Community!

I am sorry to hear that you are facing the issue with touchpad buttons hard.

Try to clean the dust accumulated under the touchpad as this might be reason for the buttons hard and clicking sound.

If still the issue persist then its time for the replacement .

Best regards,

Re: U430 T Touchpad Broken?

Hi, thanks for reply. I'm not sure how I could get to clean under the touchpad without opening the laptop. It was only bought yesterday, new inside the box.

Re: U430 T Touchpad Broken?

It might take a while to for the plastic parts to wear in. Maybe try mashing it for a while and seeing if it goes away.
