U430 screen changing

On my U430, I am constantly having a problem with my screen shifting between various programs I have open -- e-mail, Firefox, Word -- when I barely touch the keys.   I will be typing an e-mail, lower my hands to the keys and immediately the screen shifts to my Firefox page, requiring me to swipe it back to e-mail.  Is there any reason for this and how I can correct it?  Thank you.

hi freemas,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

Please try and perform a Touch calibration.

You can follow this guide and check.

Hope this helps

Cheers!

Re: U430 screen changing

hi freemas,

Thanks for the update.

Try this.

Open Device Manager and open Human interface Devices.

Try Disabling uninstalling all Devices that starts with HID- one by one.

 But

After Uninstalling one test the touchscreen if it will stop working.

Our Goal is to disable the touchscreen and test your computer if it will stop doing what it has been doing.

So

Uninstall One HID then try the touchscreen

If the touchscreen still respond continue uninstalling the next one.

If the touchscreen stopped working after uninstalling one HID

Stop with the Uninstalling and use the comupter and see if it will stop doing the issue.

Regards

Solid Cruver

Re: U430 screen changing

Check if your mouse pointer is in the upper left side of the screen when it's switching between programs. If it is, then this is a Windows 8 "feature" called hot corners. Fortunately, in Windows 8.1 you can disable the hot corners feature.
Go to the Desktop view, right-click on the taskbar, and choose Properties. If the taskbar is hidden, move your mouse over the area, and it will show up automatically.
In the Taskbar and Navigation properties window, switch to the Navigation tab. Under the Corner navigation section, you will find three options that relate to the hot corners: showing the charms when your mouse is on the upper-right corner, showing the recent apps list when your mouse is on the upper-left corner, and replacing Command Prompt with Windows PowerShell. These three options are enabled by default. Uncheck the "When I click the upper left corner, switch between my recent apps" option and it will be disabled.

I had the same issue when I first started using Windows 8 and initially thought it's a hardware or software issue, turned out it was the top left hot corner issue.
