U430p: Closing the lid forces a reboot of the entire system

I am using a Lenovo U430p and since the last windows update, whilst closing the lid the laptop is not going into stand-bye mode any more but forcing the system to reboot from scratch.

The driver for the Graphics Card has been updated - but that did not change the situation. Any other idea?

Re: U430p: Closing the lid forces a reboot of the entire system

Hi there, MMicko -

Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.

Don't know what os you're on but in windows 7: Control panel, power options, on the left click choose what closing the lid does, then choose when i close the lid, you want to choose do nothing.  There’s a setting for, on battery and one for, on power.

Update us how it goes.

Re: U430p: Closing the lid forces a reboot of the entire system

Here it goes:

Settings -> Accounts -> Sign in options -> Require sign in box (at the top) and select ' WHEN PC WAKES FROM SLEEP'.

THEN i did the following:

Settings -> Personalisation -> select screen saver settings (at the bottom) -> Select the screen saver you want or select none BUT MAKE SURE you check the box that says 'ON RESUME, DISPLAY LOG IN SCREEN'.

Update us how it goes.
