Upgrade Ideapad S10-2 with SSD-drive

I am wondering if it is possible to use one of the Mini PCI Express Card slots for a SSD drive and if there exists a compatible product in the marketplace. It would be great to use a SSD-drive as boot-drive and the harddisk for data. Does anybody know a solution? Thanks in advance

Re: Upgrade Ideapad S10-2 with SSD-drive

Hi and welcome to lenovo forum...

unfortunatly , even when you found a minipci-e SSD ... there is no option to boot from minipci-e ...

and only a few minipci-e cards will work at all ...if its not on the whitelist they wont work...

and SSD in 2,5" Sata-HDD form is faster, "cheeper" yes it is Smiley Happy and could replaced the HDD without  trouble like above..

Re: Upgrade Ideapad S10-2 with SSD-drive

Sorry for using this old threat, but...

I have read about Intel 310 SSD (80 GB) and wonder if that would speed up my lenove ideapad s10-2? I use Windows 7 ultimate and my ideapad is so lame compared to my dualcore desktop with 4 GB ram. I already equipped my Ideapad witz the 2 GB option... but still - much too lame.

Another thing: Who knows a really fast netbook???

Best regards from Germany!
