Upgrading U430 Touch wireless adapter to 802.11AC

My laptop has a Intel 7260 802.11n card with FRU 04w3815. I ordered a 7260 AC card from B&H, but when I got it, it has no FRU on it, and as others have testified, it doesn't work - "Unauthorized card blah, blah, blah"

Before running off and buying another one, I wonder this:

1. I can find 04w3814 cards (note the different FRU) on eBay for ~$30 - will the BIOS accept that as an approved card, or does it have to be a 04w3815 card (those seem to be wireless-N only)? Are there other FRU:s that should work with my laptop/BIOS, machine type model 80B3CTO.

2. Is there a way to get access to the whitelist and update it?

Re: Upgrading U430 Touch wireless adapter to 802.11AC

Hi Shashi,

As far as I can understand, the two cards you suggested, Part no 20200556 and 11202573, are both limited to 802.11n. Please note that I want to upgrade the WiFi support to 802.11AC to get better speeds.

Which cards and partnumbers enabling 802.11AC support would be accepted by the BIOS whitelist?

Can I buy a card from Lenovo?

/Mikael.
