Wireless Card Alternatives for IdeaPad S145-15API - AMD Ryzen 5 3500U

2021-01-13, 21:54 PM

Dear all, good evening

I acquired a few weeks ago an IdeaPad S145-15API for my wife, and I´m looking for Wi-Fi 6 cards that works on this model without the need to do any mod on BIOS. The original one is a Qualcomm Atheros QCA9377 802.11ac card that keeps disconnecting from my Asus RT-AX88U. I had  to disabled 802.11ax, 160MHz and  Asus Smart Connect features on router to improve stability. I have 10 devices connected to my Wi-Fi router and S145 is the only device that is giving me such issues.

Hello @Marcelo_Costa,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Wlan upgrade usually is picky because of whitelisting.

You can check here in parts lookup for the listed WLAN card along with its substitutes for those OEM tested Compatible cards for the machine model.

Not sure if Wi-Fi 6 cards would work other than those listed.

I hope this helps.

Regards
