Hey guys,

i can't fix the brightness-problem after upgrading to windows 8.1 . The brigtness is at minimum and it doesn't change by pressing any key.

Can anyone give me an easy-to-follow instruction for a hardware-and-driver-dummy like me?

Made an account just to post this. I was having the same issue. Here's how I fixed it:

Download the AMD CHIPSET drivers (VGA, and everything else included) that was released 24 October 2012. Let it overwrite newer VGA drivers.

I can now adjust brightness again. I'm on an IdeaPad S405 running Windows 8.1.

The IdeaPad S400 is intel based, but all the drivers from the lenovo-support site don't fix the problem..

Any other ideas?

I had this problem with Flex 15. I went to Settings--:Change pc settings----: PC and devices------display-----Brightness: Turn off "adjust pc settings automatically.' This fixed it.

Almost by accident I discovered that by booting in Legacy Mode, instead of EFI, brightness controls do work properly. Went back to EFI and they were stuck again. Does this make any sense at all?
