how to Re-enable Hyper Threading under windows xp

hello

i have lenovo s10 and i am using xp sp2
i have a probleme with hyper threading
i dont know how i have disable it

but  i dont know how to do it

did you disable the HT support in BIOS??? Check whether it is enabled. The Win XP should have native support for HT. I am not sure you could easily disable it and reenable it.

 

If the BIOS workaround does not work, we could try to delve into this problem bit deeper.

there is no option in  the bios to re enable it

In your post you says runs XP with ServicePack 2 and i found on the included picture a missing driver .. l prefer install the Chipsetdriver and Update XP to ServicePack 3 ... that should be solve the problem..

i have upgrade my sp2 to sp3

but the hyperthreading still desabled

Hello sawyertn,

 

you´ll need the sm bus driver from intel first.

Please refer to this thread and erik´s post, to get rid of the yellow sign in you device manager.

 

Also you should check at your taskmanager, which process demands such a high cpu usage.

i have update the systeme and reboot my netbook

also i have installed the Intel Corporation:82801G (ICH7 Family) SMBus Controller driver

but hyperthreadin still desabled
