Hi  ,

Welcome to Community Forums!

You can try to download and install the Toucpad driver for Ideapad S145-15AST on the Support Site.

Just type in the Serial Number then hit search. Go to Drivers and Software > Manual Update > Mouse, Pen and Keyboard.

From there you can download the file for Synaptics or Elan Touchpad driver.

Before you install the file, uninstall the current Touchpad in Device Manager first:

  • Open Device Manager > expand Mice and other Pointing Devices > right click on the touchpad driver > delete and uninstall
  • After uninstall, open the downloaded touchpad driver and install
  • After installation, restart the computer then test

Give us an update on how it goes.

Regards

All driver's was installed successfully, but only driver of touchpad not recognized in my device manager. and what is AMD 12C Controller, that shown on screenshot.? Why not shown on screenshot that I have tab with touchpad on mouse properties? I think that the driver of touchpad is from Elan or I mistake... Re:ideapad s145-15ast touchpad not working

2020-04-02, 15:17 PM

I got my new IdeaPad S145-15AST yesterday, and have been struggling since I got it with the TouchPad. The PC came with FreeDOS. There was no mouse pointer icon, and the TouchPad did not work.

I installed Windows 10, and the problem persisted.

Obviously the first thing I tried was the mouse-lock button on the keyboard.

When I go to device manager, and the mouse, keyboard menu it is like the TouchPad does not exist. When I run diagnostics on the Lenovo page it ignores the fact that the laptop is supposed to have a TouchPad, and tells me that the USB-connected mouse is working ok.

I have gone through diagnostics on the Lenovo support page, I have updated the BIOS. Lenovo is telling me that I am now up to date. I have tried about 20 different drivers. I have uninstalled the hardware in Device Manager, and re-installed it. If I run the same test via the Lenovo support page I get the same result.

I have tried drivers from Lenovo, AMD (I2CBus), Synaptics, DEV_0010 (also related with AMD) and Elan. I have a folder full of different drivers that I have tried. I have tried installing, extracting, updating from the device manager. I simply cannot get it to work at all. I have obviously tried the different options provided by Lenovo on the support page, and I have read several forums.

I am still not 100% what the brand is (my device manager first said AMD/ACPI&DEV_0010, but then I read it was Synaptics, and finally read in a different forum that it was Elan).

To check for hardware failure I tried running Linux from a USB, and this does, in fact, work - so I conclude that the TouchPad hardware is, at least, connected.

I finally tried the F9 BIOS reset, and stuck a needle into the U-turn hole on the side of the PC (according to the Lenovo instructions).

My last attempt is now to see if anyone can help me fix this, or if I need to return it.

Thanks.

Re:ideapad s145-15ast touchpad not working

2020-04-11, 10:06 AM

I had problems with the TouchPad on three different laptops, two Lenovo and one Asus. I installed just about every driver on the internet, upgraded the BIOS, did a BIOS factory setup, re-installed the keyboard, and tried more or less all the tricks from the different forums.

Another thing I did was to try to update Windows, I did it numerous times, but it would not abide. In the beginning I did not think much of it, I just kept hammering at the Device Manager. But then, after having tried “everything” I started to investigate, and found that my version is really old.

It turns out that the ISO image I am using to install Windows 10 has the 1511 version (it is from 2016). If you go to settings -> system -> about you can see what version you have.

And it turns out that the computer absolutely refuses to update. Now, in turns out that this is where the problem is; to get the TouchPad to work you MUST update.

So, after my one-week war I finally found the solution to this issue: I typed “create iso windows 10” in Google, and I got this link.

https://www.microsoft.com/es-es/software-download/windows10

I then created a brand new USB with Windows 10 version 1909.

Re:ideapad s145-15ast touchpad not working

I had the same problem with my Lenovo IdeaPad S145-15IIL . I updated windows, installed Lenovo vantage, run all lenovo vantage driver updates, nothing helped. I didn't even see the touchpad device in device manager. Didn't see any errors there too. I contacted the local Lenovo helpcenter, and they told me to install these files:

https://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles/vqs1020f0asq.exe

https://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles/vqs1020f0asn.exe

https://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles/vqs1010f0asr.exe

https://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles/vqs1010f0b18.exe

https://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles/vqs1010f0ast.exe

https://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles/wwe00dae07jw.exe

https://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles/vqs1020f0at0.exe

https://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles/vantagesvc01w.exe

They also told me to restart the laptop after every file installation.

After those files were installed, my touchpad started working! Solved.
