hello, I have bought a y510p 755m SLI with intel 4700MQ and it's performance is great, but after 20min it just drops the speed from 3.3mbps to like 2kbps, I tried ALL drivers and none solved the problem (even the windows one). I have to turn airplane mode on and off in order to reconnect. If i disable wireless N it does not disconnect but I lose too much speed (around 1.2mbps) and I really don't want that. Any suggestions?

Have you tried following this thread and see if it helps with your speed issue? Even though the thread is for Z510, it uses the same Wireless-N 7260 as the Y510p.

Im not getting speed problems, I download at 3mbps which is the maximum I can get with my internet connection, the real problem is the discconection, which might take even an hour to occur but eventually will happen.

It's amazing how widespread this problem is.
I had the same on my y410p and after trying all the software-based solutions suggested on the web to no avail, finally solved it by wiping the HD clean and installing Windows 7. Still tons of problems, but at least the wireless stays connected now.
@I guess the drivers are buggier with Windows 8 and 8.1? I have the same 7260N on my Y470, Windows 7 and I rarely get this issue. I'd say around once a month but it's been more than a month since I last encounter this speed drop that needs to be reset issue. I'm running the 18.104.22.168 beta drivers BTW and haven't encounted a single unrecoverable speed drop without resetting the adapter issue. Well, @ rafael1111, you can at least try the 22.214.171.124 drivers here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ww7cye44ossstfl/Intel%2016.8%20beta%20drivers%20only.zip
I still wonder how come some y510p, yoga 2 pro, z510, etc laptops with 7260N don't have WiFi problems with Windows 8, 8.1 while some are erratic? Well this tells me that some router models have quirks with the 7260 N, but it's not the only factor I suppose.

And here I was hoping when I order my 510p with the 7260 I would be avoiding all the issues the 2230 was having...
I think this issue is fixed for me at least. I haven't gotten any speed issues nor limited connection for about a month now on both school and home network. I think this issue is not widespread anymore since due to newer drivers from 126.96.36.199 and later don't have issues on a lot of laptops with 7260N. I think the issue is that the 7260N is picky with routers since I've seen posts where their laptops work perfectly at home but not at school/work or vice versa and it's not like all laptops with 7260N have issues.

I solved it by enabling wireless N on my router and changing the channel width to 20mhz, now it wont disconnect and im getting the 30mb I pay for. Actually I tested it with my home network and I was able to copy a file from a desktop to the notebook at 10mbps which is amazing. Now the wifi is working perfectly

This fixed it for me:
Installed the latest Intel drivers ver. 16.7.0 Wireless_16.7.0_e164.exe, then went to Device manager, Intel 7260 properties -> Advanced and changed Roaming aggresiveness from Medium to Lowest. It doesn't seem to disconnect anymore and i'm running 40 MHz channel.
