I have a U530 Touch and it also has the 7260 wireless chipset - nothing but problems. I fixed my problem for $8.88. I went to Amazon and bought a TP Link USB Ethernet adapter. It runs twice as fast as the Intel 7260 when it worked and the intermittent dropped connection has not happened for a month.
I just disabled the bluetooth and 7260 wireless adapters in device manager and am happy once again!!!

That is the solution that has promise for me. When I changed to raoming aggresiveness to lowest, the network card immediately connected again on this U430 touch, thanks. I refurbish laptops and am a reseller. My laptops have to work on all public hotspots and all home networks. No ones going to let you fiddle with thier router settings at Starbucks if your 7260 doesn't connect as some suggest is the fix
