lenovo u 260 - change wifi card

Good afternoon, I have this card in my lenovo U 260: Bcm94313hmg2l WPEB - 121GN
It works very badly, almost does not have a good signal in any part. Very poor. The same bluethoot, is lost at 4 or 5 meters.
By which other can I change it and improve the performance?

Thank you

Re: lenovo u 260 - change wifi card

Hi tyrantyan1,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Whitelisted cards for the U260 may be limited to those in the hardware manual (item 11 page 62). This may still limit you to BGN frequencies as set in the BIOS.

A simplier option perhaps is using an external USB dual band adapter card that can get you higher frequencies although it would look not as cosmetic (pointy device on USB port) similar to this.

Hope this helps answer your query.

Regards

Re: lenovo u 260 - change wifi card

OK, I understand that I can choose any of the list, being the most recommended for example this:
WLAN card, 802.11 b/g/n(1*1), Liteon AR9285 HB95 BGN MOW NB

Now, is this card more powerful than the one I have? Do you have more coverage? Do you have bluethoot 4.0?

Because I do not see it in your specifications ...

Re: lenovo u 260 - change wifi card

Hi tyrantyan1,

Greetings.

Reviewing the specifications of your model from the hardware manual pages 27-28, it is limited to BGN standards.

Parts listed in the manual most likely would offer same performance as intended with BT card separately located with BT2.1 standard (page62) unlike newer version that carries both wlan and BT on the same card. You may consider replaceing the WLAN card if you feel that there is a hardware issue but for upgrade performance then a plugin USB AC WLAN adapter may be an option.

Sample specification for AR9285 that I was able to search here.

Regards
