Cannot add Flex Chassis ( connection to endpoint has failed)

hi

We have added 2 out of our 4 flex frames  without big issues

the 2 other ( Same Vlan and configurations) just fails

Doing Manual input it finds the CMM with correct ID

Like the other 2 i specify the  CMM credentials  and get connection endpoint has failed

all 4 frames have the exact same configurations

CMM at Firmware 2PET14K (2.5.10)

Xclarity 1.3.2

Anyone had that problem  ?

Re: Cannot add Flex Chassis ( connection to endpoint has failed)

Sorry to hear you are having issues.  Is there more information on what fair error indicates (id or more description)?  It is indicated that doing manual input works, are you doing manual for the error case as well?

Should have also asked if you tried any of the tips from doc:

Discovery and management issues - Lenovo XClarity Administrator

It could be possible the CMM needs to be reset.

Re: Cannot add Flex Chassis ( connection to endpoint has failed)

It appears it is failing error in establishing initial communication.  You stated that they are on the same network and configured the same.  Did you validate the specific configurations listed in the troubleshooting?  Did you reset the CMMs which are failing?

If so, there is not obvious to correct given the screenshot so it would be best to make a call into lenovo service.

Re: Cannot add Flex Chassis ( connection to endpoint has failed)

Hi

Is the presence  of the old legacy FSM blade in the Pureflex frame  ( it is powered off ) be the cause  ?

Re: Cannot add Flex Chassis ( connection to endpoint has failed)

The FSM, if not powered on, shouldn't be holding onto the IMMs of the nodes, but since you did have a FSM previously managing, it might be worth resetting the CMM to factory defaults to make sure it is unmanaged from the FSM as that could be producing the "already managed" errors.  I agree with the previous post, that you are likely in the area at this stage where you should contact Lenovo Support and get a ticket opened.
