Is there anyone who experience the attach error for Lenovo SD530 RAID configuration.
The server has the below components;
|2 x ThinkSystem 2.5" 5100 240GB Mainstream SATA 6Gb Hot Swap SSD - Part # : B10W|
|Select Storage devices - no configured RAID required - Part # : 5977|
|1 x ThinkSystem SD530 SW RAID Kit - Part # : AUYL|
Thank you in advance..

I think you are seeng RAID configuration via XCC (XClarity Controller) GUI menu. So following tip may hit for the situation.
Hard disks attached to RSTe SATA controllers is not displayed in XCC
ThinkSystem SD530 SW RAID Kit is onboard SW RAID function (Intel RSTe) so XCC does not desplay installed Hard DISK via XCC.
You can see DISK information via uEFI setup menu, workaround description on above tip.

Thanks for the quick response and we are able to detect and configured RAID1 now on the servers.
We are tying to install now VMware and we getting the attach error even though the option for VMware is there too.

Could you please check following desctripion? LXPM may check following combination ESXi + RSTe.
Virtualization support: The SATA ports can be used with virtualization hypervisors, including VMware ESXi, Linux KVM, Xen, and Microsoft Hyper-V, however support is limited to AHCI (non-RAID) mode. RSTe mode is not supported with virtualization hypervisors.

So this means that we need to purchase another RAID Controller to support virtualization?
Can you advise RAID controller option part number as per the notes, the below options cannot used as upgrades and it should be CTO options;
|None||AUYL||ThinkSystem SD530 SW RAID Kit|
|None*||AUYK||ThinkSystem SD530 HW RAID Kit|
|None*||B0SS||ThinkSystem 430-8i SAS/SATA 12Gb Dense HBA|
* Available only in preconfigured models or configure-to-order; not available as a field upgrade.

I'm not sure they have any solution or not, but I suggest to contact your Lenovo Local sales person who you are contacted and ask them you are needed RAID config with ESXi environment.
As written on your reffered guide, H/W RAID controller is pre-configured only and not provided as field upgrade option.
SD530 is dense system so difficult to use common RAID controller which supported on other ThinkSystem Node.

We have tried to install VMware without the RAID configuration but it gives the attach error.
Can you please advice what could be the possible solution?

Are you using Lenovo custom image ISO?
Following are example of Install guide for ESXi6.5. VMware base ISO does not contain several driver which Thinksystem use.
Download appropriate ESXi Lenovo custom image version which you want to use, and use this ISO as installation.
Also suggest to modify uEFI setting follow the tip.

Its not from Lenovo, its from VMware iso directly.
We will try your recommended workaround , we will download the iso from Lenovo and will let you know about the outcome.
