Re: vSphere 6.5 Host "unknown health state" when enable ProactiveHA

I see errors below, iit seems BMC CIM interface has some problem, are those BMC part of the "No access" BMC? You can try to reboot the BMC and request BMC access again. Pls send us the log if it still doesn't work.Thanks.

Re: vSphere 6.5 Host "unknown health state" when enable ProactiveHA

Thanks Austin,

Switching off SSL for CIM seems to have solved the issue. Ran the follwing command on the IMM/BMC

sslcfg -cim disable

Not ideal, but OK for now, no idea whats wriong with the certs on the IMM's?

Thanks

Re: vSphere 6.5 Host "unknown health state" when enable ProactiveHA

Hi there

Just wanted to ask if this issue is resolved in version 5.4.0?

We are facing the same error and have already installed LXCI 5.4.0. The error shows up on a three node cluster with SR850 hardware. The error clears after disabling ProactiveHA again.

Due to internal security reasons, disabling SSL for CIM is not an option.

Thank you in advance for a short feedback!

Re: vSphere 6.5 Host "unknown health state" when enable ProactiveHA

Hi Kev,

There are 2 issues mixed here, one is the "unknown health state" which has been fixed in v5.4.0, another one is the BMC connection issue without disabling SSL, we didn't do anything for this.

For the cluster you mentioned , can you request BMC access successfully for the three nodes? If you can't request BMC access for all of them, vCenter doesn't allow you to enable ProactiveHA  on the cluster at all. Can you provide the details on how you configure the cluster, and when the "unknown health state" error shows up, tks.

Re: vSphere 6.5 Host "unknown health state" when enable ProactiveHA

Hi Austin

Thank you for your reply.

We requested BMC connection several times again - from the Monitor tab the connection looks good. Unfortunately there is still an alarm "unknown health state" showing and we do not know from where it comes.

Proactive_HA_BMC_OK.pngProactive_HA_Issue.pngWe are running LXCI 5.4.0 and ESXi 6.5 U1 (with Lenovo Custom Image).

Do you have any idea what the root cause could be?

Thank you,

Daniel

Re: vSphere 6.5 Host "unknown health state" when enable ProactiveHA

Hi guys

We can confirm that after the upgrade to XClarity Integrator v5.5.0 the "unknown health state" message in the vSphere Web Client is gone.

We still have other little issues related to the Proactive HA function however. But the error message was gone imediately after the upgrade.
