Lenovo Yoga C940-14IIL - keyboard replacement

I would like to replace the keyboard in my laptop. It has a German keyboard, and I have purchased a replacement UK keyboard.

Having looked at the disassembly / replacement videos here: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/ht509201-removal-and-replacement-videos-yoga-c940-14-81q9 , I am interested to note there is no video regarding keyboard removal / replacement.

From looking inside the laptop, it looks as if the entire laptop would need to be disassembled in order to gain proper access to the keyboard, so would I be right in assuming that if I followed ALL the videos listed at the link above, I would be able to replace the keyboard?

Hi rzs2323, thanks for reaching our community.

Based from the laptop parts detail, the laptop top cover and the keyboard is only one part. So that means that from the list of the videos on the link you provided, you can follow the steps for Keyboard Bezel Removal.

Please check and let me know if you have other concern.

Thanks.

Re:Lenovo Yoga C940-14IIL - keyboard replacement

I see how the bezel and keyboard are one part. However, unless I'm missing something, the video for the keyboard bezel removal is slightly misleading in that it says the prerequisite steps are 1. remove bottom cover, 2. remove battery, 3. remove antenna module - yet it shows the bezel already separated from the main board. Surely there is no way to gain access to the keyboard without removing the main board (including the other steps required in the main board removal video)?

Yes, you would need to remove them first to get access to the keyboard. If you would need further help in disassembling it, we recommend to seek help from our technician.
