Lenovo Yoga book 9i Upper Screen damage work around

Hi,

my top screen of Yoga Book 9i has recently been cracked. (If you must know the story sadly because I had the keyboard between two screens whilst folded and the keyboard pressure in between screens did the job)

Anyway, I can still use it as a normal one-screen laptop but when I fold it for tablet use, I can only get the upper screen which doesn't work. Is there a way to make the bottom screen work as the tablet view?

Also anyone happen to need to change the screen before, I want an insight if it's worth it to replace screen or just get a new laptop

Re:Lenovo Yoga book 9i Upper Screen damage work around

Hi omareddash,

Thank you for reaching out to the Lenovo Community. I'm sorry to hear about the damage to your Yoga Book 9i. Let's address your concerns one by one.

Using the Bottom Screen in Tablet Mode

Unfortunately, the Yoga Book 9i is designed to use the upper screen as the primary display when in tablet mode. There isn't a built-in feature to switch the primary display to the bottom screen in this mode. However, you can still use the device in laptop mode with the bottom screen as the primary display.

Screen Replacement vs. New Laptop

Regarding whether to replace the screen or purchase a new laptop, here are a few considerations:

  1. Cost of Repair: Replacing the screen can be costly, but it might be more economical than buying a new device. You can check the cost of the replacement screen and service through our Accessories and Replacement Parts page.

  2. Warranty Status: If your device is still under warranty, the repair might be covered. You can check your Warranty Status to see if this applies to you.

  3. Authorized Service Centers: For a reliable repair, I recommend visiting one of our Authorized Service Centers. They can provide a detailed quote and ensure the repair is done correctly.

  4. Device Age and Performance: Consider the age and performance of your current device. If it's relatively new and meets your needs, a screen replacement might be worthwhile. If it's older or you're experiencing other issues, investing in a new laptop might be a better long-term solution.

Next Steps

  1. Check Repair Costs: Visit the Accessories and Replacement Parts page to find the cost of a new screen.
  2. Warranty Check: Verify your Warranty Status to see if the repair is covered.
  3. Service Request: If you decide to proceed with the repair, you can submit a Service Request to get started.

For more detailed guidance, you can also refer to our Lenovo Support Website.

I hope this helps! If you have any further questions, feel free to ask.

Best regards,
