My Lenovo Yoga laptop will not power on and keyboard light blinks

I have a Lenovo Yoga C740-15IML, it started crashing and not turning on, so when I got it to turn on I updated the Intel and windows updates that it recommended. But now it will not power on. The keyboard backlight blinks when I try to turn it on. I have gotten lucky and gotten it to a recovery screen a few times, but just eventually freezes no matter what I do and I am forced to power it off. Then it's back to more keyboard blinking. I have pushed the Novo button but it does nothing. Please help

Re:My Lenovo Yoga laptop will not power on and keyboard light blinks

Hi Benign34,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

I'm sorry to hear about the issues you're experiencing with your Lenovo Yoga C740-15IML.

Based on your description, it seems like there might be a hardware or software issue causing the laptop to not power on properly. Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot the problem:

  1. Perform a power drain: Disconnect the AC adapter and remove the battery (if possible). Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds, then release it. Reconnect the battery and AC adapter, then try turning on the laptop again.

  2. Check for loose connections: Ensure that all cables and connections are secure, including the power adapter and any external devices. Sometimes, a loose connection can cause power issues.

  3. Try booting into Safe Mode: If you're able to access the recovery screen, try booting into Safe Mode. This will load the operating system with minimal drivers and services, which can help identify if a software issue is causing the problem. To enter Safe Mode, restart the laptop and repeatedly press the F8 key until the Advanced Boot Options menu appears. From there, select Safe Mode and see if the laptop boots up successfully.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, it may be best to reach out to Lenovo Support for further assistance. They have a team of experts who can provide more specific guidance based on your laptop model and warranty status. You can contact them through the Lenovo Support website or find a local authorized service center using the Lenovo Service Provider locator.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Best regards,

Rodney_Lenovo
