Overheating in sleep mode

Hello,
I have a new Lenovo Yoga pro 7 with the RTX 3050.
I noticed several days ago that it was heating up abnormally during standby (the underside was still a bit warm after an hour, unlike my old PC which didn't heat up noticeably).
And now, I'd left it in a cover for 2 hours and it was boiling hot when I took it out. I checked: it didn't turn back on, and sleep mode was still on. Nothing in the USB ports either.
I switched it off and it cooled down.
What worries me is that the battery went from +90% to 50% in those two hours, faster than when I use it for work. While in sleep mode. At that point, I might as well leave it on to save battery power.
Do you have any solutions?
Many thanks in advance.

Re:Overheating in sleep mode

Hi yougo123,

I'm sorry about the overheating issue you're experiencing with your Lenovo Yoga Pro 7. This is certainly not the expected behavior during sleep mode.

Firstly, I would recommend updating your system's BIOS and drivers to the latest version using the Lenovo Vantage app. You can download it from the Windows app Store here.

Secondly, check your power settings. Make sure that your system is set to go into sleep mode and not just turning off the display when you close the lid.

If the issue persists,  let me know.

Best regards,

Diox_Lenovo
