Pen Button Stuck

Hello. I have had my Lenovo Yoga 9i 15" for about a year and a half now and It's been great, except that recently, the pen's lower barrel button is stuck (for my particular laptop, the pen model is listed as "TOUCHPEN WCM 11051B6 D6.5 SG A Pen" on the compatible parts list) Apparently this pen is impossible to find (anywhere I look it's sold out). If anybody could help me find anywhere to buy the pen or if anybody knows how to fix the buttons sticking, I'd really appreciate it.

The exact model of the pen, as listed in the original post, is "TOUCHPEN WCM 11051B6 D6.5 SG A Pen", this is what is given to me in the spare parts manual of my Laptop. The product number of my laptop is 82DE0009US. It's a yoga 9i, 15". I'll try to attach a picture where the problem is clearly visible. I think I know how I could do that. I have attached two images:

one of them shows me holding up the pen to a photoshop window, and the other shows simply the mouse pointed over the window There is also a window of the Lenovo Pen settings app to show that it is the bottom button that is, indeed, the one that is stuck. As you can see in the picture, when I'm holding the pen up to the screen, the tool shown in the canvas is different to the tool shown when I simply hold up the mouse pointer. The tool shown is the eraser tool, and it is being selected by the lower barrel button, which, as you can see in the picture, is not being pressed. I was going to use One Note to prove this was the case (because I get the same problem across all apps, which is how I concluded this was a hardware problem), but One Note no longer shows an Eraser icon when erasing.

Since my device is out of warranty (as implied by the original post), I am not expecting to get a replacement for free, but I just wanted to know how I could get a replacement myself or fix the issue by opening the pen up and fixing the stuck button.

Thanks for getting back to us and providing your device's details, appreciate it!

Based on the additional details you provided, it appears that the pen itself is already at fault since one of its buttons is stuck. Since the machine's already out of warranty, it is best to reach out with the Lenovo Sales in your region to inquire on getting a new pen/stylus that you can use for your Yoga 9 laptop. As much as we love to help you more with this, it is the Lenovo Sales who's the one that can also provide the available pens in stock that you can also purchase. In addition to that, you may also visit the Lenovo SmartFind site to see the compatible Lenovo accessories you can use for the laptop. Lastly, here's another link that you can check out that shows how to look up and purchase accessories, upgrades, and FRU/CRU replacement parts.

Pen Button Stuck

Re:Pen Button Stuck

Hello @Fern M ,

Welcome to Lenovo Community!

I'm sorry to know about what happened with your laptop's pen. By the way, can you please provide us the exact model name of your pen? And is the pen included on the laptop when you purchased it? If yes, you may also share here the laptop's MTM number (ex. 8ATN0003US or 8A1N000VUS) for us to check its specifications. In addition to that, it would be nice if you could also attach here a picture of the pen wherein the issue with the lower barrel button is visible for us to see.

We'll wait for your response. No worries, we'll help you out!

Thanks,
Adriel_Lenovo
