USB Ports stopped working

Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro - all of a sudden USB ports don't work.  I've tried all the solutions I can find on-line (update drivers, uninstall and reinstall drivers, disable fast boot, check power profile settings, used regedit to set a new DWORD for disabling power saving, etc etc etc).  The Lenovo hardware scan say's everything is fine.  I'm at a loss..........

Re:USB Ports stopped working

Hi Tim_Yoga_Pro, thanks for reaching our community.

Were there any recent updates or changes prior to this issue?

What are the drivers you have already tried to reinstall?

Please uninstall all the drivers under Universal Serial Bus Controller.

The last hardware list from the device manager.

Restart your laptop after and then wait for the driver to automatically installed.

Check if you have same issue.

Thanks,

Arjay_Lenovo

Re:USB Ports stopped working

If you have tried all the software-related solutions and the Lenovo hardware scan reports no issues, it's possible that the problem is with the physical hardware of the USB ports. Here are a few steps you can take to try and resolve the issue:

Check the physical condition of the USB ports: Make sure that the USB ports are not damaged, loose, or clogged with debris.
Try using a different USB device: It's possible that the problem is with the USB device you are trying to use. Try using a different USB device to see if the issue persists.
Check the USB cable: Make sure that the USB cable you are using is not damaged or frayed.
Reset the BIOS: Try resetting the BIOS to its default settings. You can usually do this by entering the BIOS setup utility during boot-up and selecting the "Restore Defaults" option.

Re:USB Ports stopped working

I can't remember any recent changes or updates that happened just before the ports stopped working and I have been through the update log/history and nothing is showing there. I have uninstalled all USB drivers several times now. I have installed all required, recommended and any other updates I can find.  The ports are physically fine (clean, not loose, no movement).  I have run out of things to try......................

Re:USB Ports stopped working

Let us try restore the system back to when it was working.

Please follow the steps below and then choose a date when they are working okay.

This will not delete your files but the updates installed.

In the search box on the taskbar, type control panel, and then choose it from the list of results
In the Control Panel search box, type recovery.
Select Recovery > Open System Restore.
In the Restore system files and setting box, select Next.
Select the restore point that you want to use in the list of results

Thanks,

Re:USB Ports stopped working

Oh dear, the only restore points that are listed are from last week when I started to try to fix this problem.  But I must have set restore points before this?? Are they hidden somewhere?

Re:USB Ports stopped working

could you please check if there is an option at the bottom to show more restore point?

If there is no other date showing then that maybe the only option you have.

Could you share us the machine type model as well so we can check further?

Here is how to find it

Re:USB Ports stopped working

Thanks for your continued help.

There are no earlier restore points available. I restored to last week - but still no resolution.  The machine is an 80HE.

Hi, sorry for not replying soon. If you still have issues, I recommend to back up your files then try to reset it to factory.
