Encounter a DNS Server error on the go with the Yoga 900? Here's a workaround

It may not be a common occurrence for the DNS Server Error to occur is not very frequent but this can happen especially when you are travelling and the hotels or airports don't have their networks set up properly. For this reason, as a frequent travers (as many Yoga users), some, such as the writer of this article, use the Google DNS server instead.


The Google Public DNS (Domain Name Service) is a free global DNS resolution service that you can use as an alternative to your current DNS provider. Every time you visit a website, your computer performs a DNS lookup via the Google servers.


To change your current DNS to the public DNS provide by Google navigate to Windows 10 Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi > Related Settings> Change Adapter Options. Thereafter, select and right click on the wi-fi adapter displayed and select properties.




In the new window find and select on "TCP Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)" and click on "Properties" and select "Use the following DNS server or address" where you enter the Prefer DNS Server as and Alternative DNS server as
