2 Months for Repair REALLY?

2013-10-30, 16:50 PM

Sent my Yoga 13 in for repair.  Had multi-colored lines going up and down the screen making it unreadable.  Checked on the status of my repair and this is what I got.  Parts ETA 12/24/13.  I use this laptop for work and cannot be without it that long.  I assume its the screen as it worked fine through HDMI port.  Anyone ever deal with this kind of delay?

I had the same screen problem and they warned me the repair backup was stupendous, and to do a return instead. Luckily I had a couple days left before return period was up, but the reorder was a nightmare... I had to order twice more and lost most of the discount on the replacement that finally reached me. Just from the ordering process, I wouldn't worry too much about pushed out dates... when there is any doubt they seem to  push eta to the worst case, but can send much earlier.

Well after finally hearing I would be getting a replacement laptop in the beginning of November I was glad that Lenovo was coming through for me.  Well 3 weeks later, no laptop and this is what I see when I check on it.

I have a mobile business and rely on my laptop for billing away from the office.  It's killing me not having a laptop

I hear you, that is a really long time for a repair. It's definitely beyond normal expectations for any warranty service. But just wondering, if this is a mission-critical machine, would a ThinkPad not have been more suitable? The parts availability and service levels are designed to avoid situations like this, for people in your exact situation. Moot point now I suppose!

Still waiting for my replacement computer.  I have very little luck getting in touch with my customer service representative.  When I call the normal customer service number they can't help me.  Is there anyone else I could contact?  I about ready to give up and get a full refund.  I have been without the computer for a 1-1/2 months.  Out of all of the customer service centers I have called Lenovo's has to be the WORST.  This will be my last Lenovo product.  I can see why my company has moved away from them
