900s : How to disable "Always on USB" ?

Hello there

I have just purchased a Lenovo 900S-12ISK.

How to disable the “Alway on USB” feature (which powers USB when the computer is off) ?

I can’t find option to disable it in BIOS screens (version E1CN40WW) nor in Lenovo Settings utility for Windows 10.

Thank you,

Denony

Re: 900s : How to disable "Always on USB" ?

Good day and welcome to the community.

What version of Lenovo Settings are you running? On my Yoga 900S, I see the option in v3.120.0.0 under the Power menu (battery icon on left sidebar).

Regards.

Re: 900s : How to disable "Always on USB" ?

Hello sarbin,

Thank you for your message. I am running Lenovo Stetting 3.0.41.0 provided "out of the box" with my 900S Windows 10 by Lenovo. I have attached some screenshots of the Power menu (in French).

I cannot find v3.120.0.0 on Lenovo 900s support page.

Thank you,

Denony

Re: 900s : How to disable "Always on USB" ?

Hello,

It is still not working... Battery is draining when computer is OFF and USB devices are connected.

I am trying to download a new version of Lenovo Setting (if any) from Midcrosoft Store but the Microsoft servers are down ! Do you know if there are some mirror sites where I can download it ? I can't find it on Lenovo Website.

I am thinking to upgrade the BIOS to a newer version. I don't know if it will help (I don't think so). Changelog prints "1. Add UEFI secure issue workaround.". I really don't understand what that means.

Please Help !

Denony

Edit : I tried the following, but no positive result. Smiley Sad

  • Update BIOS to E1CN45WW : no change
  • Update Lenovo Utility (not Lenovo Settings) to 3.0.0.4 : no change
  • Update Advanced Configuration and Power Management Interface (ACPI) to 1.5.0.14... : no change
  • Tried to contact Lenovo Email support : Form submit fails = email not sent !!!!

Lenovo Settings is delivered via the Windows 10 Store, not from the support page. Please check for an update there.

Re: 900s : How to disable "Always on USB" ?

Thank you Sarbin for your update.

But, as I said in my previous message, I cannot download the software from Microsoft Store : There is an error.

In French, "Serveur defaillant" means Server is not working.

I am trying for 8 hours, now

It's a pity that Lenovo does not store this file on their own Support server.

Re: 900s : How to disable "Always on USB" ?

Have you tried updating via the native Windows Store application rather than via web browser?

Regards.

Re: 900s : How to disable "Always on USB" ?

i didn't' catch that the webbrowser was launching Microsoft Store application

Actually, the error message was displayed by Windows Store application. I fixed it (issue with Windows Update  bad settings) and I downloaded Levono Setting 3.120.0.0 succesfully.

The Always on USB option is now available !!! Smiley Happy

Thank you !
