I'm using the older enterprise build of Lenovo Vantage. All the function keys work fine except airplane mode on F7 - F7 works so it's not the key that's the problem. There is no way to configure these keys in the lenovo app and I suspect there's a driver problem. I can manually enable Airplane mode on Windows 10.
I read that making sure Lenovo's utility.exe is running is supposed to help, but that feature has been consolidated into Vantage, has it not? Besides I couldn't find .exes for my model for Windows 10 and I don't necessarily want to meddle with this.
Is it possible that some permissions or settings are the cause of the disabled airplane key?

Welcome to the Community Forums.
Try downloading the Lenovo Utility here: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds121769
If still doesn't work then we suggest to uninstall and reinstall the updated Lenovo Vantage and make sure that the BIOS is up to date.
Let us know how it goes.

Thank you. I will try that. I saw other posts with this exact problem/solution but I was unsure if I could use it with my laptop since it is not listed and the utility is from 2017.

Worked like a charm pretty much - even disabling the microfonw works now which I failed to mention before. BUT the camera button has no effect whatsoever. It shows the utility prompt on screen (semi transparent camera symbol) but nothing happens. Doesn't disable the cam.
Airplane mode works now but in a rather curious way: I press it and it enables airplane mode but opens the notificstion center on the right side showing a bunch of options. I'm happy with it, judt thought it's odd.
Any ideas for the camera?
Thanks a bunch for your help. Live chat recommended a system restore.

The camera IS working. Skype, Camera App, Lenovo Vantage testing etc.
The F8 camera button is recognized too - when I press it a camera icon is shown on screen but it doesn't turn off the cam if I'm using Skype or Camera App for example which I think is the intended use - right?

That's correct. The F8 should Enables/disables the integrated camera.
Try installing all Windows update and hardware drivers using the Lenovo Vantage.

I finally figured it out. I already got Lenovo Vantage.
The issue was that I hadn't turned "Allow desktop apps to access your camera" on. Under Settings>Privacy>Camera you gotta make sure everything's allowed.
Now all hotkeys are working as intended. Thanks a lot!
