Battery drain when 710 is off

0I solved my previous battery question on my own (without changing any settings FYI). But, now I have a new issue, the battery is draining when the computer is off. Yesterday afternoon I turned it on and even though it was charged to 100% the night before, it was down to 66%. I thought perhaps I forgot to shut down completely, so, last night I made sure everything was off. Today on turn it on it was down to 85%. Thoughts??

It totally defeats the purpose of having a laptop if I'm going to be chained to the AC even when I haven't been using the laptop.

Re: Battery drain when 710 is off

Hi there, Ooeemusic  -

Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today

Devices that are capable to resume laptop drain the power in any mode laptop is, less or more.

Check out the list of laptop devices that are capable to resume laptop.

Open command prompt window, execute the following command:
powercfg -devicequery wake_armed

You might disable device resume/wake up capability.

Also, could be your wireless and/or Ethernet connections are waking up your PC.

Go to Device Manager, click open the properties for each and look at the Power Mgt. tab.  If either of them have "Allow this device to wake the computer" enabled, then deselect that.

Update us how it goes.

Nope. Nothing is waking my computer.  I actually think I may have found a solution but won't know until I check tonight if the battery level has moved.

Re: Battery drain when 710 is off

FYI for anyone who encouters this issue. This is how I solved.

go to device manager-> system devices-> Intel Management Interface-> Properties-> Power Management

uncheck "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"

I have no idea how turning off an option to turn thge device off solved the issue, but it seems to have, at least for now. unchecked this, charged to 100%, powered down, let it sit for about 19 hours, and then turned it on. Still at 100%.

Re: Battery drain when 710 is off

I have the exact same issue and did what you did, but the problem is still there.
