Bent Yoga 710-14IKB.

Hello,

I came here to ask Lenovo Staff for any feedback.

Week ago I've bought Yoga 710. After few days of use its front left corner went up, it became unstable on flat surface. Pads aren't the problem and everything is fine if notebook is closed. I left it open with some book to keep it flat over night to see if it helps, it did but only for a while. I've search through this forum if anyone had such issue and Lenovo Support members claimed several times that it should be returned as this is covered by warranty. Sides are stiff and solid but the whole front is pretty much flexible. I could flex it myself but this can damage internal parts what I'd like to avoid.

So I took pictures, contacted local Lenovo Support (Poland) about it. Surprisingly they've refused to help by claiming that this is "cosmetic defect". I've asked twice, told them about statements here and I don't blame them, but there's clearly some misunderstanding.

Here's the picture of how it looks like.

It would be great if someone could clarify why I can't receive warranty service while I read here others did.

I still have week to return it to store but this model (with Kaby Lake) isn't available anymore so they can't replace it for me and yet it's not their fault. I'd like to keep it, stay fair and have my issue resolved.

Best Regards, Simon. o/

Re: Bent Yoga 710-14IKB.

Hi DragDay7 ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Warranty agreements may differ from each region as to its coverage and limitations.

Base line here is if functionality is affected during normal usage.

You can give them another call for confirmation and other option . I would suggest another call for the purpose of having the issue being documented on your account that you have reported and recognized this misalignment as may affect structural performance in the future.

Hope this help answer your query.

Regards

Re: Bent Yoga 710-14IKB.

Hi,

Thanks for the welcome and link.

I've read it and found nothing about "cosmetic defect" or any limitations in our region. For me it is clearly manufacture fault or anything else that causes part of it to bent. Yet my request has been rejected. I'll ask again to review my issue and what warranty agreement states, but I feel like I'm going nowhere.

Re: Bent Yoga 710-14IKB.

Hi DragDay7 ,

If in case that the concern be considered , be informed of the repair options since what you have is a new system.

As per general terms:

" Lenovo warrants that each Lenovo hardware product that you purchase is free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use during the warranty period. "

Interpretation of this may be influence on whether it restricts functionality and interfere usage.

Update us how it goes.

Regards

Re: Bent Yoga 710-14IKB.

So I've spoken once again with customer service via phone call.

What I've been told is that they are not gonna fix it and I can go ahead and return it to store (what I wouldn't like to do).

I've asked based on what my request got denied but I got nothing beside "we take it as cosmetic defect". Not a single reference to any point of warranty agreement or anything. While I spoke before with customer service and people were kinda understanding, this time I get into talk with I don't know some woman during PMS and she didn't cared to help at all. I just asked for any reference, didn't said anything wrong and I always talk kindly. After all she told me, she's going to write the same answer as someone did before.

That said, I think the best move right now is to return it to store.

For the first time I got effectively discouraged to this company. I mean - I want to keep that notebook, just asking to fix my issue. Instead I've been told to return it. For gods sake since when warped notebook became a common thing? How odd.

Oi, spidey101! Thanks for interesting! o/

Re: Bent Yoga 710-14IKB.

Hi DragDay7 ,

Sorry that their decision is not as favorable as we had expect but then again there may still be good on it.

As a fellow computer user , we always want out money's worth and satisfaction on what we are investing and surely we don't want our new computer to undergo repair service so soon.

There are a lot of new sale offers coming soon so you may take time to review each package as they offer.

Please don't hesitate to visit our community at anytime for other query and sharing ideas.

Regards
