3 days new laptop. upgraded RAM to 16GB and got a WD SSD.
have two fold problems
1. Windows 10 Black Screen of Death on Restart. When we restart, it just gets stuck in black screen until i press the power button for 10s to do a hard reset. subsequent power on boots the mackine OK. but restart reults in black screen 10 out of 10 times.
So Installed Ubuntu 18. Same issue with restart.
I get the feeling that whatever instruction is passed by Operating System for "RESTART" to the hardware , something is going wrong with the hardware?
NOTE: Lenovo Vantage diagnostics all come up clean.
2. When booted post a reset, always end up with a BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH on Windows 10, or the screen freezes in UBUNTU. something is terribly wrong.
Facing the same issue even with original 4GB RAM and 1TB 5400 RPM disk.
Lenovo Support is struggling to resolve this issue. I have already re-installed the OS 4 times, and still end up having the same issue.
Drivers were all updated to latest version for all devices. (Used INTEL driver update utility to get the critical drivers up to date)
Any suggustion other than throwing it out the window?
