Re: Blue screen error 0x000001d8

Probably a bad device driver issue.    Having the memory dump created when it Blue Screened examined may point you in the right direction to getting it fixed..

You do not mention what version of Windows you are running, but if it is 8.1 or lower, they are usually saved in the folder C:\windows\minidump\, while in Windows 10, they are by defaut written as a file named MEMORY.DMP in the C:\Windows folder.

Once you locate the .dmp file, go to the webisite linked below, click on "Choose File", point to the .dmp file, and then click on "Upload Dump" and then analyze the results, or cut and paste the results back here..

Instant Online Crash Analysis

I would also suggest scanning for viruses/malware, as they can cause issues too.    A good free tool is MalwareBytes from Malwarebytes.org.    It will prompt you to install a trial of their full version during installation, but for now you can just use the free scanner located here.   https://www.malwarebytes.org/dl-confirm/  and if happy with the program, upgrade later.

Open the program once installed, but before scanning, click on Settings on the top, and then on Detections and Protections on the left, and check the box Scan for Rootkits.    Once complete, start a scan.

Good Luck
