Re:Bluetooth Mouse Lag / Stutter on Lenovo Yoga 7i 14"

Has anybody found a resolution for this?
..or has anybody been in contact with Lenovo on this issue?

Its been going on for a long time now and it makes the computer kind of unusable when you need a wired mouse and a usb to usb-C converter.

Allright..
I tried making a small c# program pinging the bluetooth device every 3 seconds and that seems to prevent the shutdown.

Now I'll try presenting this to lenovo support, its pretty obvious what is happening. Now they need to figure out what to do about it.

Hello all o/

First of all, we'd like to Thank  @HenrikClausen  for helping us to try and find a solution to this problem.

The solution seems to be to uncheck the box "Allow this PC to deactivate this device to save power" in the power management tab of the

  • "Intel® USB serial bus,3.10 eXtensible host controller" device in device manager.

This driver is located under the USB serial Bus controllers category. The same process might need to be repeated for all Bluetooth drivers available in device manager if the issue persists.

It also seems like this solution has to be done again after performing Windows updates (if on all of them is unclear). The issue has been raised and hopefully a permanent solution will arrive down the line. Depending on device and similarities in problems, this solution may vary.

Hope this helps you all o/

Best Regards

Voithos & George

Re:Bluetooth Mouse Lag / Stutter on Lenovo Yoga 7i 14"

I have the same issue. I tried disabling ALL POSSIBLE Power Saving checkboxes in the Device manager (nearly any device that had the setting is turned off) and this still happens (but like at half the frequency).

Mine is a Lenovo Yoga 9i, 14" souped-up in specs and warranty that I just bought.  The system is great, comfortable, buttery performance, battery life... I even left the OS as installed because the only bloatware was the McAfee virus (which I immediately removed).  But this idiotic  Bluetooth issue is driving me nuts.  I have used BT mice and keyboards for YEARS without a problem.  I am considering returning the system to Lenovo... but I would have to get a lower gen CPU/chipset to avoid this? Is this a windows issue? My work laptop (Dell XPS 13 8gen with the same internal USB-BT device arrangement) doesn't have this problem.

I am going to complain to Lenovo support (I am well within my 30day period), and also to Logitech (since I have 4 MX keys, 3 M720 mice) to see if that triggers some response from whoever is responsible.

In the meantime, I am going to do a complete lobotomy and clean install Windows to see if that solves the issue... but I assume that some of you have already tried that, or are working in cleaned installed OS.

Lenovo told me they escalated the issue, to find a fix.

I have the exact same issue with my Yoga 7i 15" laptop paired with Lenovo Silent Bluetooth Mouse.

Disregard everything out there claiming that turning off power management settings will resolve the issue. It doesn't make any difference.

I have tried everything under the sun and the issue still persists.

Received a replacement laptop from Lenovo in the hope that it will be resolved but it's exactly the same still.

I think I'm close to giving up now and return the laptop and get something else.

It's not really acceptable for a basic mouse functionality to not work properly.

Makes it next to impossible for photos editing or any other tasks that require precision movement really.

I believe it's some kind of driver issue with AX201 Intel wireless chipset.

Hello,

Clean install did not work.

Interestingly, intel automatic drivers did not install the latest version of the WiFi driver.  Manual search for intel AX201 WiFi resulted in manual download of the latest driver.

Driver did not solve issue.

I found a reference to this problem in a dell forum.  There they reference (but not link) a lenovo forum post saying to try this registry edit:

* Click Windows icon (start)
* Type regedit
* Right click regedit
* Click Run as administrator
* Navigate to =
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\USB\VID_8087&PID_0026\5&ed1e05a&0&10\Device Parameters]
"DeviceSelectiveSuspended"=dword:00000000
"SelectiveSuspendEnabled"=dword:00000000
"SelectiveSuspendSupported"=dword:00000000

This should effectively should avoid the BT adapter from dynamically falling asleep.  Give this a try.  It seems to be working for me... but then again, I never can be sure.

2 person found this solution to be helpful.

This helped me too

Thanks for sharing this. It is looking promising so far, but I'll monitor for the next few days and see if it's definitely been resolved.

I have gone about 12 hours after the reg fix without a hitch.  At the beginning I thought it wasn't working but I had forgotten to restart after the reg edit.  After a restart... I have not perceived the problem, at all... Hopefully this posting won't jinx it..

I also found that the Lenovo and intel auto updates did not install the latest Video driver... I did that just now and all BT devices continue to work well.

I only have "DeviceSelectiveSuspended" in the aforementioned area of the registry (on a Lenovo 7i 14" laptop) and do not have "SelectiveSuspendEnabled" nor "SelectiveSuspendSupported". Setting "DeviceSelectiveSuspended" to 0 did not fix the problem. Any idea where I can find the other two you mentioned in the registry?
