Re:Bluetooth Mouse Lag / Stutter on Lenovo Yoga 7i 14"

2021-04-08, 14:17 PM

Hi all,

Please, try the solution shared by my colleagues:

The solution is to uncheck the box "Allow this PC to deactivate this device to save power" in the power management tab of the "Intel® USB serial bus, 3.10 eXtensible host controller - 1.20 (or 1.10)" device in device manager. This driver is located under the USB serial Bus controllers category. The same process might need to be repeated for all Bluetooth drivers available in the device manager if the issue persists.

Let us know if it works :)

Best regards,

Ala

Re:Bluetooth Mouse Lag / Stutter on Lenovo Yoga 7i 14"

I just bought a new X1 Yoga Gen 6 (i5, 512 GB with UHD display version). I had to use the registry hack to solve the Bluetooth lag/stutter issue (using Logitech MX Anywhere 3 mouse).

But I decided to upgrade to i7 with 1 TB and FHD display. Returned the i5 and I just received the brand new Yoga. And same bluetooth mouse issues. Again, the registry hack resolves it.

Two different Gen 6 X1 Yogas, same issue and same resolution.

I've got a brand-spankin' new ThinkPad X1 Yoga Gen 6 (released a month ago) and this lag is happening to me too.  And the kicker?  I have a ThinkPad Laser Bluetooth Mouse.  This did not happen with my ThinkPad X1 Yoga Gen 2.

I've tried turning off power saving in every device I can find in Device Manage and still very laggy after sitting for a few seconds.  Attempting the registry fix now...

Hi there, I have a X1 Yoga Gen 6 and a ThinkPad Bluetooth Laser Mouse and this happened to me right out of the box.

Yep, I can only hope more people report this problem. This problem is easily replicated. A person simply needs to connect any Bluetooth mouse, wait about 4-5 seconds, move the mouse again, and you'll see the mouse stutters - every time.

The workaround suggested in this thread, although appreciated, is just that: a workaround. Lenovo engineers need to fix this with patch. The typical Lenovo PC user should never have to go into the registry and make changes like this.

I have the exact same problem on my Lenovo X1 Nano. Both bluetooth mouses (MX Anywhere 2 & 2s) won't re-connect after hibernation (with the registry fixes in place). I have to turn BT off an on again after standby to make it work again (each time!), which is infuriating.

Additionally, I plug my Nano into a Monitor with a USB-C hub. There, I have another bluetooth mouse (Glorious Model O Wireless). When pluggin in without restarting, the mouse does not accelerate properly but jumps around the display while moving and is unusuable.

I really regret buying the X1 Nano, I had so much issues with it.

Verified the registry fix worked for me.  If you are experiencing the exact problem described in this thread and unsure how to safely edit your Registry, you can download my attachment which modifies it for you (only the 3 entries discussed in this thread).  Once downloaded, double-click to open the ZIP file, then double-click to import the Registry settings (your system will rightly warn you about importing it, which you'll have to accept).  Restart your computer and voila - no more mouse lag.

Below is the script:

"

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\USB\VID_8087&PID_0026\5&2535f9dd&0&10\Device Parameters]
"DeviceSelectiveSuspended"=dword:00000000
"SelectiveSuspendEnabled"=dword:00000000
"SelectiveSuspendSupported"=dword:00000000

"

Goldeneye

I followed the steps you outlined but I have a lenovo 81ca and the files I have are VID_06CB&PID_0081, VID_0Cf3&PID_E300, VID_174f&PID_241A, and VID_174F&PID_241A&MI_00. Is there something i can change in these files to make my mouse work?

Re:Bluetooth Mouse Lag / Stutter on Lenovo Yoga 7i 14"

I too was having Bluetooth issues with my newly purchased 4k Yoga 9i. I wasn't trying to use a Bluetooth mouse but rather an Xbox Bluetooth gamepad and a 8bitdo Bluetooth gamepad. The behavior was just very inconsistent. I was having controller lag and super unresponsive input. I took a chance and applied the registry edit and that seems to have solved my issues. My question is why do I need to resort to registry edits on an $1800 laptop to make it fully functional? This is obviously something that can be addressed and fixed. What is taking so long? Could never recommend this laptop to a non techie. I spent HOURS googling for a solution and updating drivers before I landed on this page. Say what you will about Apple but this kind of stuff doesn't happen on their side of the pond. Issues are ironed out quickly. I am still in the return window but it looks like other premium windows laptops are having similar issues. Are you all planning on keeping your laptops or returning?

It's absurd that after a proper workaround has been posted by the community, official Lenovo support comes along and posts another non-working fix as a suggestion (ie. turning off power management in device manager).

What's more ridiculous is that they know about this issue but there is no more update or posting by Lenovo Support. Completely unacceptable.

I'm happy with my Yoga 15 since this issue has been resolved so I'll be keeping it.
