Bluetooth Problem

I am a first time user.  Hope I'm doing this correctly.  I have have a compatibility problem between my new Yoga 13 (windows 8) and a relatively new Bluetooth headset that I purchased about 3 months before I bought the Yoga.  The headset worked perfectly well with my old windows 7 laptop and with my droid cell phone.  I have consulted with technicians from Lenovo, Microsoft, VXI Corp. (headset manufacturer), and Best Buy where I purchased the machine.  I have been unable to resolve the compatibility problem.  

 

Here is what is happening. My primary application for using the headset is the Gmail Soft Phone.  I use the headset to conduct VOIP phone calls on my laptop.  If I am already in Gmail and decide to make a call, turn on the headset and dial out, most of the time I get pure distorted noise.  In trying to trouble shoot and find a work around, I discovered through trial and error that if after a failed (distorted) call, I put the computer into sleep mode (by shutting the lid) and then waking the computer, the next dial that I made on the phone would actually work (though not well).  The garbled, distorted noise would be gone and I'd hear ringing and then voice upon answering of my call.  I repeated this work around many times and every time I would have a failed dial out and would go through a sleep and waking cycle, the next call would be fine (but choppy).  

 

Does anyone have any thoughts about why this might be happening and what I might do to resolve the problem?  I'm getting ready to bite the bullet and just buy another headset but am hoping not to have to scrap this relatively new (only used 3 months) headset.  I have tried another headset with my Yoga (while trouble shooting at Best Buy)  and the alternate headset worked fine.  Go figure!!

(PS:  according to Lenovo tech support, I have the latest drivers on the machine.)

Please try installing the following drivers to check CSR Bluetooth Driver
