C940 14" Keyboard issues

2019-12-12, 7:42 AM

New C940 14" used primarily for creating content. When typing it intermittently produces double characters. It drives me crazy. Updated all the drivers, updated windows, resetted the whole thing. Checked for cpu spikes. No luck.

There is no real pattern and all characters seem to suffer from it. When typing "harder" it's less prone to doing it. When typing "softer" i have it every few words.

Anyone else having this issue? Any fixes for this?

I managed to solve the problem by installing "Keyboard chattering fix"

https://www.softpedia.com/get/System/System-Miscellaneous/Keyboard-Chattering-Fix.shtml

It solves the symtoms, not the real problem. But it's better then having to send it back. It allows me to work normal with my machine.

Have you tried changing repeat delay and repeat rate in keyboard properties?

Yes I did, thank you for the suggestion. It does "solve" the problem as I don't get any double characters anymore, but it makes the use of "backspace" or "enter" in for example Excel very frustrating. So in the end, it's not a solution.

Re:C940 14" Keyboard issues

I am having the same double-letter typing issues with my Lenovo C940 15", and it is driving me crazy. I will be returning this machine because I frankly cannot live with this annoying behavior. Sure, I can up the delay between key presses, but then I can't use the arrow keys, enter, and backspace keys as they should be used. I am getting double letters practically every other sentence on this keyboard. Truly maddening and I am surprised it is not documented elsewhere / there are not more forum posts about it. This is highly disappointing to me as I really wanted to like this machine. :(
