2017-03-31, 15:29 PM

Hi,

i have a Lenovo yoga 2 13. The power button don't work anymore since the computer stop during a windows update, i don't know why (my computer have only 6 months).

Can i use the bios novo button for a normal start up of the computer or it is not recommended and can destroy the computer ? If i use the key recovery option, i will lose all my data ? It will make the power button work again ? I'm afraid and i don't know what i can do... Please help

Sorry for my bad english, there is not french forum ..

Thank you !

Hi Hadibou ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Power button should work as it should not unless that the machine is currently at sleep or hibernate mode or the button itself is broken . As such , best to call in technical support for repair option.

You can try to unplug the ac charger and press and hold down the power button for 12 seconds until it manually shuts off and leave for 15 minutes . Check any uncommon feel like loose / stiff power power.  Press the power button again to check .

To answer your question, you may also power on the machine using the Novo button and choose option 1 Normal Startup (no changes will be made on the computer) as one of the choice on the Novo Menu

Choosing System Recovery will present option to One Key Recovery page25 (factory reset with data lost ) either from initial backup (hidden partition) or user backup .

Hope this help answer your query.

Regards
