I recently bought a used Lenovo Yoga 720-13ikb and now i want to set it up for dual boot. Sadly Arch linux won't work with the sata controller set to raid so I want to set it to ahci. I know that this normally works without me having to do a fresh install of windows 10, but somehow when I try to change the controller mode in the bios settings a message pops up saying:"all existing data stored on the drivers will be erase when resetting Controller mode.". Does this actually format the drive? Will my warranty be void if I do that?

have a 720-15 and switched from RAID to SATA. Nothing was formatted. You just need to boot into safe mode to force windows to load the right driver.
Cannot comment warranty, allthough changing a BIOS setting should not void it....

How long did the safe mode take to recover the system?
I got Yoga 720 13" and changed the SATA controller from RAID to AHCI in the BIOS.
Now I have been seeing 'Preparing Automatic Repair' screen more than 20 minutes.
I'm afraid that I've got in a big trouble.
