Connecting Lenovo C940 to external monitor - how?

2020-09-22, 2:40 AM

I'm purchasing a Lenovo C940 14" and a Dell 27" monitor, and I simply want to know the best way to connect the two to extend the display?

The monitor has the following ports:

1. Power connector | 2. Security-lock slot | 3. Stand lock feature | 4. HDMI 1.4 port | 5. DisplayPort 1.2 | 6. USB 3.0 upstream port | 7. USB 2.0 downstream ports (x2 – rear) | 8. USB 3.0 downstream ports (x2 – side)

The laptop has:

2 x USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C / Intel Thunderbolt™ 3 (Power Delivery, DisplayPort)

1 x USB 3.1 Gen 2** Type-A

Headphone/mic combo

I've seen other posts on this topic, but it was for a different model of Lenovo, so I just want to triple check before buying anything.

Thanks!

The best thing you can do is go to pcsupport.lenovo.com search with your serial number, and then select Accessories and find a USB-C to displayport or HDMI adapter. That is verified to work with the unit.

Hi , I use a DELL thunderbay dock station and it's just fine for 2 monitors. Never able to charge the Yoga exclusively with the docking station.
