Digital pen for Yoga 910

Does anybody know what pen can be used with Yoga 910?

I asked the question to Lenovo service desk and the answer I got is that they don't produce any that are compatible with Yoga 910.

Re: Digital pen for Yoga 910

Hi there, Artorro         -

Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.

Since the Yoga 910 does not have a digitiser, your only choice is a capacitive stylus which means no palm rejection and less accurate inking. Unfortunately the ones with finer tips are not guaranteed to work on all devices, so you will have to experiment.

Also, Lenovo Yoga 910 doesn't come with active pen support, so it doesn't support Wacom pens.

Update us how it goes.

Re: Digital pen for Yoga 910

Thanks for answer but what's the definition of finer tip? I have been in 2 stores and non of them had pens for display and they didn't want to unwrap one for me to "experiment" with so I'm kind of lost here.

If capacitive stylus is not "good" enough key word to guarantee compatibility with Yoga 910 what is?

Re: Digital pen for Yoga 910

Usually the pens that work with these screens have a soft rubber tip or what looks like a smooth metal mesh tip. They mimic the use of a finger on the screen, but with a bit more fine control. Machines with active digitizers, on the other hand, work by completely different mechanics and offer very fine control.

Update us how it goes.

Re: Digital pen for Yoga 910

ok... this is very confusing but let me see if i get it:
The yoga 910 (13IKB) doesnt use a pen at all... just a "device" that "mimic the use of a finger on the screen"!

Is there, or will be there a Pen, i mean a stylus pen, with sensitivity, tilt and things like that, available for this laptop any time soon?

Nope - such pens require digitizer hardware built into the screen, and the 910 does not, and will not, have this.

Re: Digital pen for Yoga 910

this is sad.... the '900s' series have a digitizer and the '910' series does not... kind of not fair. ( i fell like i have been

still... cant find any serious information on the monitor (screen) system caracteristics and no information on what its possible to use (compatible) or not for this model (yoga 910).

is it possible to return the laptop based on non-satisfaction?

Knowing that i need a pen ... what possible resolutions do i have ? (best choice)

Re: Digital pen for Yoga 910

Hi Shashi_Lenovo,

I went to my local Lenovo store askin whether there is a stylus compatible with the 910 and they responded with Lenovo Active Pen. I'm now left with the impression that this might not work. Is there any use of buying it? Thanks!

Regards,
Tsvetina

Re: Digital pen for Yoga 910

Sorry, TsvetinaD, but the Lenovo Active Pen will NOT work with the Yoga 910. I'm afraid your local Lenovo store are misinformed.

The only model supporting the Active Pen in the Yoga 9xx series is the Yoga 900s.

Edit (5 months later): and now that the Yoga 920 has been released, this also supports the Active Pen.
