Disable Caps Lock Indicator Yoga 14

I just purchased a yoga 14 with windows 8.1. I want to disable the caps lock notification and almost all of the old solutions for windows 7 do not apply because there is no "On-Screen Display" tab. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Re: Disable Caps Lock Indicator Yoga 14

Good day and welcome to the community.

Please confirm that your machine is a "ThinkPad" Yoga 14, and I'll move the thread for you.

Thanks.

sabrin:

It is a yoga 3 14 inch, so I do not believe it is classified as a "ThinkPad".

Thank you.

Re: Disable Caps Lock Indicator Yoga 14

Thank you for confirming.

This one, yes: http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/yoga-series/yoga-3-1470

My apologies. I mistakenly thought that only the ThinkPad line sported a 14" Yoga.

Regards.

Re: Disable Caps Lock Indicator Yoga 14

According to the post below, it's a matter of uninstalling the "Lenovo Utility" software via the Windows Control Panel area to fix this issue.  There may be a subsequent issue requiring to change some options in the "Lenovo Settings" software afterwards, if you find you've lost the top row of Function Keys.

https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-Yoga-Series-Notebooks/Yoga-3-Disable-caps-lock-indicator-for-Win...

PS: It took me so long to configure the top row to work properly - i.e. a normal ESC key (via a hack work-around) and normal F-keys - that I just live with the Caps Lock display notification issue.  :\   Hardware companies shouldn't write bundle software when they have no f'n clue how to write code.
