Draining Battery

Hello,

I am currently using a Lenovo Yoga 700-14ISK... Have bought it about 1 year ago for school use, and i use it for gaming as well

Have bought it about 1 year ago for school use, and i use it for gaming as well

however, i have realised that my battery is draining too fast nowadays... 100% can only last for around 1 hour, and

For example, while watching Youtube 100% can only last for around 1 hour+, and in 6minutes, 5% has drained...

Anyone have any solution to it?

Re: Draining Battery

Hi yxyjtan ,

Welcome to the Community Forums

Batteries are considered consumable devices and gets depleted though usage.

Here are some steps that you can try to extend sustainable charge.

Heat would be a major factor for early depletion of the battery life as well as steps mentioned here

Gaming on ac connection is prefered but concern with heat generation can still affect the battery so proper cooling and well maintained internal ventilation is suggested. Manual battery calibration would help but I would rather do it on extreme battery issue as this may also affect its performance .

Hope this help answer your query.

Regards

Re: Draining Battery

Hello,

Thank you so much for your response!

By AC connection do u mean charging while gaming?

If the laptop is too hot, i do turn on an external laptop fan that is blowing the bottom fo the laptop where the heat is at..

Regarding battery calibration, where do it do it?

Re: Draining Battery

Hi yxyjtan ,

During gaming , connecting the ac charger if prefered as it does not use the battery chemicals.

Heat is being generated intensely during gaming so best to turn on the blower at the same time.

Nowadays , laptops are equipped with battery control systems maintained both by battery and laptop chips.

Previous battery calibration would not be necessary unless you want to manually do it by charging it full 100% then allowing it to drain down to 5% before charging it again.

Regards
