I just purchased an external DVD drive for my Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro laptop. How do I play or record a DVD once the USB cord is connected? Do I access Windows Media Player, or download a separate Application? Right now nothing happens when plug in the USB from the external drive to the laptop.

Hi there, George -
Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.
I don't know about your specific models, but for some notebook computers, the external USB DVD disc drive has to be connected with a "dual-headed" or Y-shaped cable to two USB ports on the notebook because it draws too much current to be powered by just one USB port. In some cases, the drive may also come with an AC power adapter as well, in case it only ships with a "regular" USB to Mini-USB (or Micro-USB) cable to connect the two devices.
Update us how it goes.

Assuming you have Windows 10: Left click Start, Settings, System, Default Apps. Find the Video Player and click on it to see what you have on your computer to play videos. Choose one.
Make sure your external DVD player is Windows 10 compatible.
