External monitor font looks washed out on Yoga 910

2017-04-24, 4:22 AM

I have 2 ordinary external monitors attached to my new yoga 910, and both the monitors have  fonts have a washed out look, sort of like 1/2 their pixels are missing. This only happens in Windows applications such as Visual studio and MS Word menus, not in web browsers or other applications.

One monitor is via an hdmi cable to the Type C connector, the second is via an external graphics card and a hub to the USB drive.

Both monitors exhibit the same issue.

Does anyone else have this? It worked OK under my previous laptop.

The Yoga screen is awesome, so thats not the issue, just the external montors when using some windows applications.

Hello Netchicken

Thanks for using the Lenovo forums.

Try to download the Video and Chipset drivers for the unit from the support page.

Make sure to reboot after an update.

Try a static discharge for this, it may help to resolve the issue or at least get rid of any built up static on the motherboard.

(If the battery is internal, please just skip the remove/replace battery steps.)
1. Turn the unit off
2. Remove the battery and the Mains adapter
3. Press and hold the front power button for 30 seconds
4. Replace the battery and the Mains adapter
5. Turn the unit on as normal

Hope this helps, let us know how you get on.
