Re:Fingerprint reader issue

For Thnkhckpd

I am on an X1Y3 that is a good sleeper now.But I had to do some fiddeling.Hello, this is from a thread where you paticipated in.If I do a clean install of Win 20H2 the PCI Express root port #7 will not sleep and let go of my Fibocom WWAN adapter. However if I do a clean install of Win 1909 and then immediately update to 20H2 everything works as expected.Win 20H2 is then updated to all the latest by Windows update and all is well.If you don't have WWAN I would do a direct 21H1.Had to keep the old SD card driver as the new one did not release the reader on modern sleep. On AC power I set it to sleep and screen off after 5 mins. and hibernate after 65 mins.Because coming out of hibernation eats the battery energy of one hour sleep. That's it.Back the thing up and try it out, it was working OK and now the FPR problem and the SD card and if use WWAN have to install 1909 and than upgrade.Ciao, Han

It won' update to that version. I' noticed that I' had this update for a while now, but every time I run it, when I reboot it says I still need to update. I' try the other ideas and see what happens.

I'm talking about the FP driver (via winupdate not! Lenovo Update) not the IISS driver.

Why won't you update? Didn't you need help with your issue?

If this ISSH driver does fail that's a totally different subject. This explains your issue. This driver probably breaks powermanagement > boom FP not working.

Try this one manually:

https://download.lenovo.com/pccbbs/mobiles/n1osg02w.exe

https://download.lenovo.com/pccbbs/mobiles/n1osg02w.txt

There were some changes in the ME firmware requiring a new driver..

Otherwise you may have a invalid Intel ME FW.

I know how to update the Integrated Sensor Solution Firmware part on the X1Y2 in this case but please try the other suggestions first.

Heard about the WWAN problems long time ago :)

I got a Fibocom but would like to immediately install 21H1. The problem seems to be the ChipsetDriver for PCI Express root port #7 then?

I doublechecked: it's PCI Express root port #3 on my X1Y3. Should be #3 for you as well...

How did you test for PCI Express root port not sleeping? powercfg /SystemSleepDiagnostics? Sure it isn't the WWAN fw? Are you on the latest fw?

Could you name me the working PCI Express root port driver version? (or even zip it up?)

What's the working SD card driver version? <10.0.16299.31241> (N27X804W)?

If coming out of hibernation equals 1h of sleep, that's indeed a good sleeper :)

What's your max "modern sleeping time" on a full battery? Does critical hibernate (low battery) work as expected?

Thanks!!!

Edit:

Regards to FP. Did you update the Intel ME FW? See above post. It has the IISH integrated which is key to keyboard, trackpoint, touchpad, touchscreen. Also ME is working in conjunction with FP.

X1Y2 has a newer IISH driver (see post above) than winupdate or the official support site for X1Y3. Works fine here on my X1Y3.

It's not that I won't update, it's that the system won't update it. I added that screenshot just because I keep getting it even after I run it (it won't update). I did do a Windows update for the driver and it said it was already up to date. I'll continue working through your ideas.

Hey,

No, port # 7 was from an other thread and not the WWAN thing.

Look up HWInfo64 the program

Go to Bus/Pci Bus and you will see what is connected where.

The WWan or the SD reader are not real problems, they will not consume but just not being released.

And so if you do a Sleepstudy report they are marked as problem device.

The work arounds I gave you before.

Try a 21H1 fresh install and you can always adapt later.

My best sleep is 300 mW/H, do the math.

See how it goes, like I said before it was flawless for two years and since 2004 workarounds are needed.

Let us know how it goes.

Ciao, Han

Yup. Didn't realize you posted from another thread. #7 didn't seem right.

Nice. That's a full week.

Will do some testings and report back.

Which SDCard driver version is beeing released correctly from the PCI Bus?
